"Lovingly directed by MIKE RADEMAEKERS ... its message still rings loud and clear ... BEST BET."

On the stage of the Secret Rose in NoHo through January 19 is a marvelous presentation of John Patrick's "The Teahouse of the August Moon" directed lovingly by Mike Rademaekers. Hardly dated (though written in the 50's), its message still rings loud and clear, especially in the light of our ongoing American imperialism - now more threatening than ever. Wouldn't it be nice if other cultures could be appreciated? Rather than wipe them out, let them shine! Talk about an ideal New Year's resolution. Second BEST BET.

(NOTE: the first "best bet" was "Mornings at Seven" at the Ahmanson)
